Support Community Nurseries

Climate Forestry Connects is supporting community-owned tree nurseries to become sustainable green enterprises. Through this initiative, local groups raise quality tree seedlings, build practical nursery-management skills, and gain access to reliable markets for their products. By linking nursery groups with restoration programmes, farmers, institutions, and community planting activities, we help ensure that the seedlings they produce have a ready market. This creates income opportunities—especially for women and youth—while increasing the availability of locally grown, climate-appropriate trees. Community nurseries do more than supply seedlings. They create jobs, strengthen local livelihoods, promote tree planting, and support the restoration of degraded landscapes. When communities own and manage nurseries, they are not only planting trees; they are building lasting businesses and investing in a greener, more climate-resilient future. Together, we are growing seedlings, incomes, and hope—one community nursery at a time. Community-owned nurseries can make seedlings more accessible locally while providing an income stream for nursery managers when they are connected to dependable buyers. Through crowdfunding, Climate Forestry Connects will mobilize resources to help community-owned tree nurseries grow into sustainable green enterprises. Every contribution will directly support local groups—especially women and youth—to raise healthy, climate-appropriate seedlings for farms, schools, restoration sites, and community landscapes. Funds raised will help nursery groups access essential materials such as seeds, potting tubes, soil, water-storage equipment, shade nets, watering cans, and simple tools. Crowdfunding will also support training in seedling propagation, nursery management, record keeping, business development, and marketing, enabling communities to produce high-quality seedlings and manage their nurseries as viable enterprises. A key part of the support will be connecting nursery groups to reliable buyers. Climate Forestry Connects will link community nurseries with farmers, schools, restoration programmes, institutions, and local tree-planting initiatives that need seedlings. This helps create a dependable market for locally produced trees while ensuring that communities can access suitable seedlings close to where they live and farm. By contributing to this campaign, supporters will help create jobs, generate income, restore degraded land, and strengthen climate resilience. Each donation helps a community nursery raise more seedlings, reach more customers, and supply trees that improve farms, protect soils and water sources, increase tree cover, and build a greener future.

Together, we can grow community enterprises, create markets for local seedlings, and restore landscapes—one tree nursery at a time.
